i know i’m quite late with this post, but i’ve been a little busy. i couldn’t not write about the epicness of the glee britney episode. or lack thereof.
maybe i’m being harsh, but i kinda hated it. it was almost as bad as “acafellas.” there wasn’t much storyline, the dream sequences were shoved down our throats too many times and some of the songs were way underwhelming. for instance, i was expecting an AMAZING performance by lea michele for “baby one more time.” instead they decided to change the key of the song and ultimately ruin it. and i’m a huge lea fan. i didn’t think she could ever ruin any song ever, let alone a friggen britney spears song.
as for heather morris, i think she did great, the girl has got moves. seriously. her dancing was incredible and her voice wasn’t too shabby either. she had some funny one-liners.
the rest of the cast was SO out of character this episode. rachel was super clingy, will was kinda mean and terri, geez what happened to her sweet voice. i thought terri’s character was supposed to manipulate with her soft spoken evilness, not pure craziness. i don’t know, it just didn’t do it for me. oh and sue was m.i.a. for most of the episode. um, no!
i love john stamos. i really do. but he should have had better material to work with. alas, he did well with what he was given.

the ONLY thing that saved this episode for me was the end. i know i’m in the majority here because i am a huge finchel fan, but that song and scene was so amazing. i always liked the paramore original, but lea blew it up. she sang it better than hayley and i can’t stop listening. anytime i get to hear lea sing and stare at cory monteith is a plus. and he was extra adorable this episode.
i will admit that it was way better the second time i watched it, but still. as a major gleek, it pains me to say that the show didn’t live up to my expectations. in fact, none of the tribute episodes did. for now on, i’m anti-tributes on glee.
wait, i take that back. if they successfully execute a bruce tribute will be happy.

Love Glee’s version of only exception. it’s really nice.
